::First day::

Today was my first day at the new workplace.. The day started with the boss spending some time telling me bout what the department's revenue was like and how important the business unit is to the bank.. He also shared with me more about the culture and the capabilities of the business.. I was a bit sleepy cos slept quite late yesterday but at least still could absorb some of what he said..

Then I was introduced to the team, which is relatively small, about 11 people.. all in all the whole level probably had around 80+ pple.. but most of them were in the regional office so it's quite different.. We had the annual department lunch today at takashimaya.. Imperial Treasures Teochew cuisine.. They had the set lunch menu while i had some veg dishes.. I was quite shocked at the bill though.. 9 of us went, and the bill was about $900!! hmmm but they said it was worth it for the meats stuffs that they ate so i'm not too sure..

Basically i really like the place and the culture so far, but things will definitely be changing so i'll have to see.. But i have my own laptop and desk, plus next week my manager will be bringng me when he goes to see a customer, so that's something to look forward to.. There's alot of training materials, sessions and tests i have to do and attend so that's something which i have to start doing.. But i'm lucky in the sense that it's the first time they are hiring a fresh grad for this position, and all the members in my team are quite experienced.. One of the interviewers who interviewed me is also really friendly and spent quite some time talking to me, saying that i can treat him as a "buddy" or mentor so that i can approach him if i have any questions..

So things are going alrite.. so far so good i would say.. The office is really nice although i dun have much of a view where i'm seated.. if anyone's at raffles place do call me for lunch! Lets hope everything goes on smoothly~
